This is actually my first begonia. I was worried when I received her because her stems looked frozen. The winter packaging was intact and no soil was lost, so time would tell…. And time proved that she was healthy, one leaf dried up and fell off, but she is growing and I can tell she likes her new home. Tips that helped me, I waited a day or so before I watered her, she didn’t need it right away, when I did water her, I used room temp rain water and took my time, making sure the entire root system got a drink. I stopped watering at the first sight of seepage. Being a humidity lover, I kept her close to other well established friends, I set up a few water features near her (I already had a digital humidity thermometer). I will be setting up a room sized humidifier for all my babies….just as soon as my room remodel is done (nothing special, but I didn’t know what else to call it. Lol). My curious six year old grandson bent one of the leaves asking “is this real?” Aaaarrrggggggghhhh. So that’s why there is some bruising, but that wasn’t the plant’s fault. She is gorgeous !!!!
