Common Basil
Ocimum basilicum

One of the most commonly grown and versatile herbs, basil can be paired with pretty much anything, whether it's a Margherita or a margarita.

Direct sunlight 4-6 hours/day (indoor) or partial shade (outdoor). Plant new batches every 2-3 weeks to keep supply going all summer long.

Pro-tip: If you're using grow lights, make sure they are full-spectrum. If basil only receives red and blue wavelengths of light, they won't generate the oils that make their scent and taste.

Basil

My plants arrived in perfect condition. The delivery service left them at my door upside down, but the packaging is so good, the plants were fine. They are growing everyday!

Looked perfect upon arrival

This was a gift for my sister, and we were in the middle of a winter storm with below 0 wind chills. I am thankful that one of the fantastic customer service reps suggested winter packaging, which I completely missed while placing the order online. The parsley arrived in perfect condition! I don't think my sister has eaten it yet, so I'm not sure how it tastes.

Excellent herbs, cilantro a little on the sadder side

I received my herbs in good shape, except for the cilantro which seemed to already be slightly wilted, though I hope that it will perk back up after repotting it. I love having fresh herbs right there on my windowsill, and would definitely purchase this kit again should I want to add more herbs to my kitchen garden.
